Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2

Lightly grease and flour a 13x9x2 inch baking pan; set aside.

Step 3

In a 3 quart saucepan, melt the butter just until melted.

Step 4

With a wooden spoon, stir in the brown sugar.

Step 5

Add the vanilla and eggs; mix well.

Step 6

Stir in the flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix until combined.

Step 7

Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts. (The batter will be stiff).

Step 8

Spread the batter into the greased and floured 13x9x2 inch baking pan.

Step 9

Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes, or until tooth pick inserted comes out clean.

Step 10

Remove from oven and cool completely before cutting into bars. Store in an airtight container. These freeze very well.
