Step by Step Method
FOR THE SOUP
Step 1
In a saucepan over med-heat, stir together the milk, half-&-half, sweetened condensed milk & vanilla extract. Bring the mixture to a bubble.
Step 2
Reduce heat to low & add the chocolate.
Step 3
Let stand for 1 min, then whisk until the chocolate starts to melt.
Step 4
Combine the cornstarch & water w/a fork or small whisk.
Step 5
Add this mixture a little at a time, whisking constantly until the soup is thick & smooth. You'll know it's ready when the bubbles are gone & the chocolate has thickened; this takes about 5-7 min.
Step 6
Carefully pour into 2 bowls & garnish.
FOR THE TOPPING
Step 7
Microwave the cream cheese at 10-second intervals or until it can be stirred smooth. Add marshmallow creme to the cream cheese & mix well.
Step 8
Dollop on top of soup (or transfer mixture to a pastry bag & pipe design).
