Step by Step Method
Step 1
Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold running water and drain.
Step 2
Boil water.
Step 3
While water is boiling, heat oil in a separate saucepan over medium heat.
Step 4
Add the bell pepper, onions, carrots, & garlic. Saute, stirring for 2 minutes.
Step 5
Add the rice and cook until the rice has absorbed the flavorful oil and is translucent.
Step 6
Pour in hot water.
Step 7
Season to taste.
Step 8
Bring to a boil.
Step 9
Reduce the heat to low, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
Step 10
Do not uncover.
Step 11
Take off heat and let sit covered for 5 minutes.
