Fun facts:

The scone is a traditional British quick bread, which has been around since the 1500s. It is believed that the name "scon" comes from the Stone of Destiny, which was the coronation stone of Scotland's ancient kings.

In the 1700s, the scone was popularized by British author and poet Robert Burns, who wrote a poem called "Address to a Haggis" which includes the line "And cut you up wi' ready slicht,/Trenching your gushing entrails bricht,/Like ony ditch".
