Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2

In a small bowl, combine oregano, thyme, paprika, cayenne, black pepper, sugar, cumin, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, Tabasco sauce, and oil; mix well into a paste.

Step 3

Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil; pour a small amount of oil onto foil and spread with a paper towel.

Step 4

Peel potatoes and slice into french fry shapes.

Step 5

Place fries in a plastic bag with paste and work paste onto fries; alternatively you can do this in a bowl, but the bag method is easier.

Step 6

Place fries on lined baking sheet, trying not to let edges touch.

Step 7

Bake in preheated oven for approximately 30-35 minutes (your time may vary with the size fry you cut); turn once during cooking to brown underside.

Not too spicy and just like I like them. So yummy! I don't have potatoes often and was craving them and this looked too good... They were! Crispy and tasted like more!

This is a top recipe for flavour - great combination of spices. Served with recipe#8662 Redhot Yogurt Dip. I made this recipe in my Actifry. Only used 2 medium potatoes. I am going to double the recipe so I have this mixture on hand for my next few batches of fries. Thanks Sue for a super recipe. 30 March 13 I mixed the spices again, this time I tripled the recipe so I would have some on hand for my next fries.

Whoey is this good!! Just the right amount of heat. I made this using my Actifry, I just tossed everything (exact amounts listed) in and let it go for 25 minutes. Turned out perfectly. I served these up with my RedHot Yogurt dip and they paired together quite well. Thanks for sharing this recipe here with us. Made for the Pick Me! recipe tag game.
