Step by Step Method

Step 1

Cook the egg noodles according to package directions; drain then transfer to a bowl and toss with butter; set aside.

Step 2

Cook the bacon in a skillet until browned (about 10-12 minutes) remove and chop, do not drain the grease.

Step 3

Cook the onion in the bacon grease until softened (about 4 minutes). Add in the chopped garlic and chili flakes; continue cooking for about 2 minutes.

Step 4

Add in the chopped cabbage and cook stirring until wilted (about 5 minutes). Add in chopped bacon and continue cooking until the cabbage is tender about (20 minutes, cooking time will vary).

Step 5

Mix in the cooked noodles and continue cooking until heated through. Season with salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste.

I made this recipe on 10/30/13 as a side to go with some pulled pork. Except for using about a fourth of a small head of cabbage and adjusting the other ingredients accordingly,the recipe was made as written. My SO really didn't care for it that much,but I thought it was very good.
