Step by Step Method
Step 1
Cream butter and sugar until granules of sugar are dissolved and the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Step 2
Add eggs, one at a time, mixing each in well.
Step 3
Stir in flour and mix well.
Step 4
Stir in buttermilk and vanilla extract.
Step 5
Pour into unbaked pie crust and bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. Test by inserting the tip of a knife near the center. It will come out clean when the pie is done.
Step 6
Cool completely before serving.
Step 7
If there is more filling than the pie crust will hold, bake the extra in custard cups or ramekins for a small sweet treat without the crust.
