Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180C - Gas Mark 4)
Step 2
Spread the walnuts in a single layer on a baking sheet and toast until lightly brown - about 4 minutes - watch closely so that they do not scorch.
Step 3
In a small saucepan over medium heat, gently warm the olive oil with the onion, walnuts, olives and garlic. DO NOT bring oil to a boil. Remove from the heat and cool for a moment.
Step 4
Place the blue cheese in an attractive serving bowl (2 1/2 - 3 cups capacity).
Step 5
Pour the warm oil mixture over the cheese and stir gently.
Step 6
Add pepper to taste, then let the mixture cool to room temperature.
Step 7
Serve with toasted baguette rounds and grapes.
Tips
- Can be made ahead and returned to room temperature for serving.
