Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 450.
Step 2
Cream butter, sugar and vanilla, blend in flour.
Step 3
Press into a 9 inch springform pan and spread with jam using enough to cover the base.
Step 4
Combine cream cheese and sugar, add egg and vanilla, mix well.
Step 5
Pour over the jam.
Step 6
Topping, toss apples with sugar and cinnamon, starting with the outside edge working in, place the slices over the cheese mixture in a circular pattern with the slices barely over-lapping.
Step 7
Sprinkle almonds on top.
Step 8
Bake at 450 for 10 minutes, turn down and bake for 25 minutes.
Step 9
Cool.
