Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • FOR BASE
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup raspberry jam (may need a touch more, use enough to cover the base)
  • FOR FILLING
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (white)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • FOR TOPPING
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 cups apples (peeled, cored and thinly sliced)
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 450.

  • Step 2: Cream butter, sugar and vanilla, blend in flour.

  • Step 3: Press into a 9 inch springform pan and spread with jam using enough to cover the base.

  • Step 4: Combine cream cheese and sugar, add egg and vanilla, mix well.

  • Step 5: Pour over the jam.

  • Step 6: Topping, toss apples with sugar and cinnamon, starting with the outside edge working in, place the slices over the cheese mixture in a circular pattern with the slices barely over-lapping.

  • Step 7: Sprinkle almonds on top.

  • Step 8: Bake at 450 for 10 minutes, turn down and bake for 25 minutes.

  • Step 9: Cool.
