Balsamic Mushrooms (Great With Steak)

"This is a recent addition to my cookbook, added by a family member at a weekend cookout this past summer it has become one of my favorite sides when we do steak. If you love mushrooms and balsamic vinegar it likely will become one of yours too."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Use a soft brush or paper towel to clean mushrooms, do not rinse as wet mushrooms do not brown well
Step 2
In a small dish combine balsamic vinegar, brown sugar and water, mix and place near cooking area
Step 3
In a large saute pan heat on medium heat add 1 tablespoon butter and 1 tablespoon of olive oil when butter is melted add mushrooms and salt stir with a wooden spoon until mushrooms absorb the butter and oil
Step 4
Cook for 2 minutes and stir continue cooking giving an occasional stir until mushrooms have shrunk and glistening and continue for about 6 – 7 minutes
Step 5
Turn heat down to low add the garlic and the remaining butter and oil stirring until garlic is fragrant about 15 seconds
Step 6
Add the balsamic mixture using a spatula to scrape all into the pan, cook and stir unit the liquid glazes and coats the mushrooms takes about 20 seconds, season with a few grinds of pepper
Step 7
Transfer to serving dish using a spatula to get all that lovely garlicky sauce
