Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 pound mushrooms (your favorite)
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons minced garlic (to taste)
  • 1/2 to 3/4 teaspoons sea salt (to taste)
  • Pepper freshly ground (to taste)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Use a soft brush or paper towel to clean mushrooms, do not rinse as wet mushrooms do not brown well

  • Step 2: In a small dish combine balsamic vinegar, brown sugar and water, mix and place near cooking area

  • Step 3: In a large saute pan heat on medium heat add 1 tablespoon butter and 1 tablespoon of olive oil when butter is melted add mushrooms and salt stir with a wooden spoon until mushrooms absorb the butter and oil

  • Step 4: Cook for 2 minutes and stir continue cooking giving an occasional stir until mushrooms have shrunk and glistening and continue for about 6 – 7 minutes

  • Step 5: Turn heat down to low add the garlic and the remaining butter and oil stirring until garlic is fragrant about 15 seconds

  • Step 6: Add the balsamic mixture using a spatula to scrape all into the pan, cook and stir unit the liquid glazes and coats the mushrooms takes about 20 seconds, season with a few grinds of pepper

  • Step 7: Transfer to serving dish using a spatula to get all that lovely garlicky sauce
