Step 1
Cook gnocchi according to packet directions and then drain.
Step 2
Heat an oiled, large, non-stick frying pan over a medium heat and add bacon and cook, stirring occasionally, until crisp and then add garlic and stir for 1 minute and then sStir in tomatoes, tomato paste and cream and bring to a boil.
Step 3
Remove pan from heat and stir in gnocchi and chopped basil and season with salt and pepper and pour into an ovenproof dish (8-cup capacity) and sprinkle with cheese.
Step 4
Cook in a hot oven (200°C) for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Step 5
Garnish with basil leaves.
