Step by Step Method

Step 1

Toast almonds: Lightly toast the slivered almonds in a small skillet over medium heat until lightly browned (no oil).

Step 2

Remove immediately and let cool.

Step 3

Dressing: shake dressing ingredients in a jar until sugar is dissolved. (This keeps for 3 weeks!)

Step 4

Shred cabbage: Toss everything except crispy noodles.

Step 5

Place cabbage in a big bowl with toasted almonds and green onions.

Step 6

Pour over dressing, toss well.

Step 7

Add crispy noodles,(chow mein noodles)

Step 8

Toss warm noodles just before serving so they stay crisp. Or serve on the side

Delicious, and even better the next day. Don't add the noodles until you are ready to eat! I added more slivered almonds too for more crunch.
