Step by Step Method

Step 1

Bring 2 cups of water and 1/4 tsp salt to a boil and add rolled Oats. Give it a stir and reduce heat to simmer. Allow to cook for 5 minutes and add the apples. Give it another stir and cover with a lid. Cook an additional 2-5 minutes, depending upon the consistency that you prefer your oatmeal and apples.

Step 2

Stir in raisins and ground cinnamon. Top with walnuts, maple Syrup and/or a touch of Cream, Soy Milk, or regular milk.

Great oatmeal, very satisfying. I made mine with Scottish oats and everything but the walnuts. I had my apples cut small, but they took a lot longer to be cooked the way I wanted them, so I had to add some water and cook them longer. I think if they were added at the beginning it would have worked better. I enjoyed mine with brown sugar and cream, and Hubby liked it with pure maple syrup. Made for the Billboard recipe tag game.
