"This is the apple pie I've been making for years using Pillsbury pie crusts."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2

Line pie pan with bottom crust

Step 3

Peel and slice apples

Step 4

Put half of the apples in prepared pie pan.

Step 5

Sprinkle apple slices (in the pan) with 1/2 cup sugar and spices.

Step 6

Top with remaining apples and rest of sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon, flour and butter.

Step 7

Sprinkle with lemon juice.

Step 8

Cover with top crust, crimp edges together with a fork. Cut "x" on top to allow steam to escape. Sprinkle top with sugar.

Step 9

Put pie on baking sheet in case of spill-overs.

Step 10

Bake for 1 hour in preheated oven.

Wasn't a really thick pie, which I like, but it tasted delicious! Might add a tad bit more cinnamon next time.

I used a gluten free all-purpose flour mix and used brown sugar in lieu of the granulated sugar and this turned out great. We both enjoyed this pie but we thought it could of used more cinnamon which I will increase next time I make this :) Thanks for sharing this recipe here.

this is just how mom pat made hers , it was amazing ,would have been better if someone had not stolen some of the apples , sigh great recipe to have
