"This is a good combination. The tartness of the apples goes nicely with the cheese, and ham. Also, the crunch of the walnuts make this a yummy sandwich."

This was excellent as a late Saturday afternoon meal! Apples are beginning to come in here in the Appalachians, and I keep several varieties on hand for quick meals or snacking. This had great textures, and wonderful taste combos. I did have to use cooked bacon, as I had no ham. I'll still give it a try when I have ham, but I can't imagine it would be any better. This is a keeper, and a definite "go to", especially during the autumn. Thanks for sharing!  I cut the recipe down to two serving, and added more apple than might have been called for in the recipe.  I have enough left over for a breakfast sandwich tomorrow(or, heck, it may just turn into a late night sanck)!
