Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a 4-QT saucepan saute onion, garlic, peppers, chili powder and cumin in hot oil until tender.

Stir in drained beans, undrained tomatoes, lemon, oregano, salt and hot sauce.

Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes.

Remove lemon slice and puree if desired.
