  • When selecting avocados, look for ones that are slightly firm but yield to gentle pressure.
  • If using pre-chopped tomatoes, make sure they are fresh and not overly wet.

  • Substitute diced bell pepper for the diced tomatoes for a crunchier texture. The benefit of this substitution is that bell peppers provide a crunchier texture and a sweeter flavor, which will balance out the garlic and onion.
  • Substitute cilantro for the lime juice for a more intense flavor. The benefit of this substitution is that cilantro will add a more intense flavor to the guacamole and will also provide a more vibrant color.

Chunky Guacamole Cut the avocados into small cubes before mashing. Do not mash the avocados completely and leave some chunky pieces. Add the rest of the ingredients, and fold gently checking for salt level.

Spicy Guacamole Cut the avocados into small cubes before mashing. Do not mash the avocados completely and leave some chunky pieces. Add the rest of the ingredients, including jalapeno, red pepper flakes and cayenne pepper, and fold gently checking for salt level.

Carne Asada Tacos - Grilled steak tacos with a side of guacamole. The carne asada adds a savory and smoky flavor to the tacos, and the guacamole adds a creamy and refreshing element to the dish.

Mexican Street Corn: Mexican street corn is a delicious side dish that pairs perfectly with carne asada tacos. The sweet and savory flavors of the corn complement the smoky and savory flavors of the steak, and the creamy texture of the corn adds a nice contrast to the tacos. It's a great way to add a bit of variety to the meal!

I love guacamole, and this one was just a little different then mine, using garlic and lime. I really loved the combination of them together. Had as a snack during the Super Bowl and will be happy to make it for snacks for my eating plan. Healthy and delicious too! Thank you for sharing this one sis! Linda

We love guacamole and love variety, have added this to my appetizer cookbook. Have to agree it is a great combo. Like spicy, not having a fresh jalapeno on hand I did as one of your previous reviewers and added a touch of cayenne. Enjoyed!

The perfect combo of ingredients for guacamole, the lime really makes it. I added a very light sprinkle of cayenne to give it a hint of heat. Very yummy.
