"I've been making these ever since I found the recipe out of one those church cookbooks (don't you just love those cookbooks!) and that was over 20 years ago, I remember the original recipe called for 1/2 cup of butter, I have reduced amount to 1/4 cup and I sometimes add in some salted chopped peanuts"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine oats, rice cereal, Frosted Flakes and chopped peanuts; set aside.

Step 2

In a microwave-safe bowl add butter, corn syrup, brown sugar and salt; Microwave on high for about 45 seconds to 1 minute or until the butter is melted. Remove and stir until everything is well combined. Pour over oat mixture. Stir with a wooden spoon (I use my hands (that I coat in oil) for mixing. Transfer to an 9x11 inch pan.

Step 3

Using wet or oiled hands pat down.

Step 4

Refrigerate until firm then cut in squares.
