"I found this recipe many years back on an A.B.C. program, and have kept and used a few times. This is a great substitute pattie, for vegetarian of the household when having a B.B.Q. This is a recipe you can mix and match, by adding your favorite fresh herbs or spices for your preferred flavor. How big or small you make your patties will alter your serving amounts."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Pour the olive oil into a large heated pan; Put the onion and garlic with olive oil into the pan and sweat off, until they are soft but not colored (this will take about about 10 minutes, careful not to burn, you only need a medium heat ), add the mushrooms and cook over medium heat for about 20 minutes, until all ingredients are well cooked.
Step 2
Tip mix into a strainer or a colander to drain for as long as possible, overnight in the fridge is best.
Step 3
Combine the cooked mix with the rest of the ingredients, if the mix is a little wet add some more breadcrumbs.
Step 4
Season and form into thin patties, then refrigerate until you wish to cook.
