Step by Step Method

Step 1

Vegetables:

Cut the broccoli into small florets.

Mince the garlic cloves and set aside.

Pasta:

Cook pasta in heavily salted boiling water until al dente.

Cook for 10-12 minutes or until the pasta is cooked to your preference.

Drain the pasta and set aside, saving a 1/2 cup pasta water.

In a large skillet, melt butter over low heat.

Add the minced garlic to the butter, stirring for 1-2 minutes.

Pour in 1 1/2 cups of chicken broth and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.

Add broccoli and steam for 8 minutes.

Once the broccoli is cooked, add 1/2 cup of grated parmesan cheese, stirring well.

Slowly pour and stir in 1/2 cup of half n half to the skillet.

Step 14

Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and mix thoroughly.

Step 15

Season with additional salt, pepper, and parmesan cheese to taste.

Step 16

Let the mixture simmer (don't boil) for about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally to meld the flavors.
