  • 4 ounces parmesan cheese, grated, (1/2 cup)
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • Pasta
  • 16 ounces dry orecchiette pasta
  • 6 cups water, boiling
  • 1 teaspoon salt

How to Make

  • Step 1: Vegetables:

  • Step 2: Cut the broccoli into small florets.

  • Step 3: Mince the garlic cloves and set aside.

  • Step 4: Pasta:

  • Step 5: Cook pasta in heavily salted boiling water until al dente.

  • Step 6: Cook for 10-12 minutes or until the pasta is cooked to your preference.

  • Step 7: Drain the pasta and set aside, saving a 1/2 cup pasta water.

  • Step 8: In a large skillet, melt butter over low heat.

  • Step 9: Add the minced garlic to the butter, stirring for 1-2 minutes.

  • Step 10: Pour in 1 1/2 cups of chicken broth and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.

  • Step 11: Add broccoli and steam for 8 minutes.

  • Step 12: Once the broccoli is cooked, add 1/2 cup of grated parmesan cheese, stirring well.

  • Step 13: Slowly pour and stir in 1/2 cup of half n half to the skillet.

  • Step 14: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and mix thoroughly.

  • Step 15: Season with additional salt, pepper, and parmesan cheese to taste.

  • Step 16: Let the mixture simmer (don't boil) for about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally to meld the flavors.
