"Truffles ... yes, they are crazy expensive! But, they are really delicious, and perfect for a special occasion. I have bought them a few times in my life (personally); but, many times for catering. They are for these special times - anniversary, birthday, Valentines, Christmas or New Years Eve; an engagement, or, any other special holiday or occasion. One of my favorite dishes ... toss with angle hair pasta, a couple of tablespoons of heavy cream, and truffle butter. Finish with pecorino romano and enjoy! It is a decadent rich dish, but really delicious. But, this is also good over potatoes, seafood, steamed vegetables; and, fantastic when you make soft scrambled eggs. What you don't use within a couple of days, you should freeze. And yes, it does freeze very well up to 3 months."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Butter ... Add everything to a small bowl and mix to combine. Then, add to a piece of plastic wrap, spread out, and roll to create a small log. You can also use parchment paper if you want. If you don't plan on using small fancy rounds, just cover the bowl and refrigerate. Making a 'log' just allows you to cut pretty small rounds when servings, but it isn't necessary.
Step 2
Serve ... Now, this is DECADENT and expensive; so, this is not something you cook with unless it is something special.
Step 3
If you make a log, you can cut the butter in small rounds to top your dish, which is really "pretty." This is fancy and great for entertaining, but not necessary. You can simply top a baked potato, grilled or steamed asparagus or green beans. I also love to make slow cooked scrambled eggs finished with a small spoon of the butter. Delicious over broiled cod or salmon. And my favorite is to add to fresh thin pasta (like angle hair pasta), along with a couple of tablespoons of heavy cream - really delicious.
Step 4
Expensive - Yes! But, nice for that special occasion.
