"This is a flavorful and very easy to prepare syrup that you can use in so many ways! Let's see: in a cocktail, over pancakes and waffles, over ice-cream, in my oatmeal, on homemade poundcake. But my favorite way? Surreptitiously sneaking a spoonful of it while hiding behind the refrigerator door! It's that good..."

  • Be sure to use ripe strawberries to get the best flavor.

  • Honey instead of sugar: Honey is a great substitute for sugar because it has a higher level of sweetness and is a healthier alternative. It also adds a unique flavor to the syrup that can be quite enjoyable.
  • Vanilla extract instead of almond extract: Vanilla extract is a great substitute for almond extract because it has a milder flavor and is more widely available. It also adds a subtle sweetness that can be quite pleasant.

Blueberry Syrup Replace the strawberries with 2 pints of blueberries. Follow the same instructions as for the strawberry syrup.

Strawberry Shortcake - This classic dessert is the perfect way to enjoy this strawberry syrup!
