Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 pints strawberries (ripe!)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (Note: this is not overly sweet - if you like SWEET, add more)
  • 3 ounces water
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon orange bitters (Fee Brothers, see instruction below)
  • NOTE: use 3 dashes of orange bitters, NOT 1/4 tsp.
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Wash and trim the strawberries, then cut into 1/4 inch rounds, letting them fall into a heavy-bottomed saucepan.

  • Step 2: Add the sugar and the water, then bring to a boil. Reduce heat and bring to a fast simmer, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries are soft and the liquid looks syrupy. About 8-10 minutes.

  • Step 3: Add the almond extract and the orange bitters. Stir well.

  • Step 4: Put in a glass jar and let cool. Keep refrigerated.
