"Yum. Don't need to say more. For real decadence, try with creme fraiche. Active time is very little, basically hulling the strawberries and packing the ice cream. "Cook" time is resting, processsing, and freezer time. Makes about 1 qt. ice cream."

I have to agree with Chef Potpie...this deserves more than 5 stars...I prepared the mixture and the hubby made the ice cream...he loved it!!! I made the mistake of telling him it had sour cream in it...he hates...knowing what is in the anything that I make...but in the end he had to admit it was the best strawberry ice cream he's ever had...it was so creamy...btw...I use splenda in place of the sugar...made it low carb...yum...made for "Best of 2022" tag game...per Chef Potpie's recommendation...

There are not enough stars for this! This is one of those recipes you end up keeping forever. From a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time comes this luxurious and fresh tasting ice cream. The sour cream gives it a rich creaminess that will not only impress company, but will make you swoon while sitting in a corner, alone, with a dish of this and a big spoon! ;) Speaking of swooning, The Hubs is still talking about it. Tomorrow my little granddaughter and I are making a batch together. Thanks for posting this, Lori! It is going into my Best of 2022 and my BEST files!

We found some great strawberries at a great price at the farmer's market so we bought 1/2 flat. We doubled the recipe and we are so glad we did. It was so creamy and delicious. You couldn't even taste the sour cream, the flavor just melded with the rest.
