Step by Step Method

Step 1

Mix together the Sriracha, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, cilantro, and sugar. Season aggressively with salt and pepper. Put in a 1-gallon plastic bag, add the shrimp, and mix together in the bag. Marinate in the fridge for 2 to 4 hours. Or longer.

Step 2

Heat a grill. Skewer the shrimp (4 to 6 shrimp per skewer) and grill until pink and delicious, 2 to 3 minutes per side.

Step 3

Remove the shrimp from the grill, slide the shrimp from the skewer using a fork, and pile on a serving platter. Sprinkle with finely chopped cilantro, and throw a few toothpicks in a few shrimp. Serve!

Tips

  • Wooden skewers (soaked in water for 1 hour before adding on the shrimp)

  • For the best flavor, use freshly crushed garlic for this recipe.
  • If you are not a fan of cilantro, you can substitute parsley or another herb of your choice.

  • Substitute hot sauce (Sriracha) with chili garlic sauce: This substitution will give the dish a more garlicky flavor, while still providing a kick of heat from the chili.
  • Substitute olive oil with avocado oil: Avocado oil has a mild flavor and a higher smoke point than olive oil, which will help the shrimp to crisp up nicely when cooked on the grill.

A peppy delicious recipe. I love spicy and this was just right. I marinated the shrimp for 4 hours. Instead of grilling them I used the broiler about 5 minutes each side. I love the touch of cilantro. This recipe will be made again for sure.
