"This was given to me many years ago by a Swedish lady who made these each Christmas. As a little girl they tasted so good and looked so pretty with the colored sugar on top. Also, I loved the shapes...so cute. They look nice tucked in among the other cookies on a Christmas tray to give away."

Step 1

Mix the butter and sugar together well; add the egg yolks and mix well.

Step 2

Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.

Step 3

Pack into a cold cookie press and press them out onto a cold cookie sheet.

Step 4

Add any colored sugar at this time and bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

These cookies have always been a favorite of mine, so I decided to make them and bag them up for people to grab at a pot luck I just went to. I made butterflies and added some decorative sprinkles. They were so cute and tasty too!
