Step 1

Heat a heavy bottomed saucepan and drizzle with a bit of vegetable oil.

Step 2

Add garlic and red pepper flakes and cook for a minute, until garlic is soft.

Step 3

Add butter and allow melting.

Step 4

Whisk in flour and keep whisking until flour is fully cooked and no longer white.

Step 5

Add milk and whisk until thickened.

Step 6

Lower heat and add parmesan cheese; mix well.

Step 7

Add sour cream, spinach and bacon; cook until warmed through.

Step 8

Season to taste and serve over your favourite hot cooked pasta noodles.
