Step by Step Method
Step 1
Saute onions and peppers with 2 tablespoons butter flavored shortening.
Step 2
Remove from the skillet.
Step 3
Add more shortening as needed.
Step 4
Saute chicken in the same skillet with shortening. Remove after heating thoroughly.
Step 5
Saute corn and squash in the same skillet with shortening.
Step 6
Remove.
Step 7
Add more shortening as needed.
Step 8
Fry okra in skillet until golden brown.
Step 9
Add salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste. (Remember these are Southerners, they like more seasoning lol start low and add more if needed).
Step 10
When okra is done, begin adding all the ingredients back into the skillet until reheated to desired temperature.
