Step by Step Method

Step 1

Combine the brown sugar, chili powder, 1 tablespoon salt, 1 teaspoon black pepper, the oregano, cayenne, garlic powder and onion powder in a small bowl and rub the mixture on both sides of the ribs. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour or overnight.

Step 2

Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F. In a roasting pan, combine the broth and vinegar. Add the ribs to the pan. Cover with foil and tightly seal. Bake 2 hours. Remove the ribs from the pan and place them on a platter. Pour the liquid from the pan into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Lower the heat to a simmer and cook until reduced by half. Add the barbecue sauce.

Step 3

Preheat an outdoor grill to medium high (or during winter, place under the broiler, but keep a watchful eye so as not to burn). Put the ribs on the grill and cook about 5 minutes on each side, until browned and slightly charred. Cut the ribs between the bones and toss them in a large bowl with the sauce. Serve hot.

Yummy ribs! We used Sweet Baby Ray's original for the barbecue sauce. Tender and juicy with layers of flavor!

Seriously...these really are the best ribs...I used a hickory smoked bbq sauce...I took these ribs on a RV trip...so I completed everything through step 2...at the camp site I heated the grill to low and tossed the ribs on to heat through...once heated I based with the bbq sauce which I heated on the stove...they came out so delicious...we had then for dinner and I tossed the rest in the sauce and had them for lunch the next day...I wouldn't change a thing...I still have a few soaking in the sauce for tomorrow...yum...made for "Billboard" tag game...

Awesome recipe. The ribs were tender, juicy and delicious. The bbq sauce was wonderful. I used an apple butter based one, it worked perfectly with the ribs. Thanks so much FEM for sharing this lovely recipe that we will enjoy again.

Yummy saucy ribs. I used the broiler cause the grill is put away in the garage for the winter. They are so good! You need plenty of paper towels for these because they are messy. With cornbread, coleslaw and beans we had a meal to remember!
