"I recently acquired a new slow cooker and this recipe was in the instruction booklet. Please note others have cooked this and times have varied from 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours, if cooked in a smaller than 6L crock pot/slow cooker it seems to take longer, I think this maybe because it is not spread over a larger surface area, so shape of pot may also effect cooking time. UPDATE - made a 1/2 recipe using a 1.5 litre crock pot/slow cooker and it was cooked in 1 1/4 hours so think recipe times from booklet are way out so for a full recipe I have taken it back to 1 1/2+ hours especially if you crock pot/slow cooker has a large surface area the time required could be as little as 1 1/2 hours."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat slow cooker for 20 minutes on high.
Step 2
Grease the slow cooker bowl (would recommend if using butter to put on wax paper or baking/parchment paper to do).
Step 3
In a separate bowl, combine the first 7 ingredients mixing or whisking well together. till combined and then place into the slow cooker.
Step 4
Sift brown sugar and extra cocoa powder over mixture and using a spoon, gently and evenly pour the boiling water over the mixture and stir well to combine and then very gently spoon the liquid over the mix in the slow cooker.
Step 5
Cover and cook on HIGH for 1 1/2+ hours, or until centre is firm (I think cooking time could vary depending on the size of your crock pot/slow cooker - mine is a 6L oval shaped cooker and this is the time they recommend though since cooking it in a smaller cooker I have changed the times - the original was 2 1/2 hours on high).
Step 6
Serve with sifted icing sugar and ice cream or cream.
