Step by Step Method

Step 1

Heat about 2 tablespoons of olive oil.

Step 2

Sauté the garlic until fragrant,(do not brown).

Reduce heat to medium low and add the breadcrumbs.

Add 2 more tablespoons of olive oil and combine.

Stir together for about 2 minutes (breadcrumbs will get slightly toasted and should absorb the oil).

Add the coarsely ground walnuts and stir fry for another 2 minutes.

Step 7

Add raisins lemon zest and parsley.

Step 8

Stir to combine for 1 minute.

Step 9

Set aside.

Step 10

Add up to 1 cup of the cooking water (from the pasta) if the mixture appears to dry.

Step 11

Meanwhile

Step 12

Bring a large pot of heavily salted water to a rolling boil.

Step 13

Add the spaghetti and cook until al dente.

Step 14

Drain the pasta and reserve about 1 cup of the cooking water.

Step 15

Drizzle more olive oil on.

In a large serving dish

Alternate layers of pasta and bread mixture

Step 18

Top with bread crumb mixture

Seasoning to taste
