Step by Step Method

Step 1

Mix butter, 1/2 cup confectioners sugar, and vanilla together; cream well.

Step 2

Add the flour and salt and mix well; add walnuts and mix well.

Step 3

Chill dough; roll into 1" balls.

Step 4

Place on ungreased sheet and bake at 375-400 degrees till set, but not brown--about 10-12 minutes.

Step 5

While warm, roll in the additional confectioners sugar and cool; roll in the sugar again.
