  • 1 cup soft butter
  • 1/2 cup confectioners sugar, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/4 cups flour, sifted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 3 cups confectioners sugar, additional

How to Make

  • Step 1: Mix butter, 1/2 cup confectioners sugar, and vanilla together; cream well.

  • Step 2: Add the flour and salt and mix well; add walnuts and mix well.

  • Step 3: Chill dough; roll into 1" balls.

  • Step 4: Place on ungreased sheet and bake at 375-400 degrees till set, but not brown--about 10-12 minutes.

  • Step 5: While warm, roll in the additional confectioners sugar and cool; roll in the sugar again.
