Step 1

Slowly cream together the butter and the pumpkin. It won't get completely smooth, just get it as smooth as possible, possibly 3 minutes of mixing time.

Step 2

Beat in the vanilla, then the cinnamon, then the nutmeg.

Step 3

Slowly add the powdered sugar, about a cup at a time, until it is the right consistency.

If I could give this buttercream 10 stars, I would! It is Marvelous and I had to stop myself from eating it with a ladle, that's how good this is. It was used to fill the Almost Oreos recipe given here on recipezazz, but it will definitely work with any other desert that requires frosting or filling. What better for a dessert than a cake with pumpkin frosting. This frosting was excellent on my vanilla cake!
