Step by Step Method
Step 1
Butter 7-inch pie plate.
Step 2
Pat in crumbled chocolate cookies mixed with butter.
Step 3
Bake the shell in a moderately hot oven (375 degrees F) for 3 minutes.

For the filling:

Melt semisweet chocolate over hot water.
Step 6
Beat in 1 whole egg and 2 egg yolks, one at a time.
Step 7
Add 2 tablespoons rum.
Step 8
Beat 2 egg whites (pasteurized egg beaters) stiff
Step 9
Temper the egg whites in.
Step 10
Whip the cream.
Step 11
Fold eggs into the slightly cooled chocolate mixture
Step 12
Fold in whipped cream.
Step 13
Spoon the mixture into the shell and chill well.
Step 14
Top with Reddi whip whipped cream and shavings of unsweetened chocolate.
