Step by Step Method

Step 1

Heat olive oil; add sausage; add garlic.

Step 2

Add kale and cook down.

Step 3

In a casserole layer the thinly sliced potatoes in bottom.

Step 4

Make 4 beds; put cod on top of potato layer; salt and pepper to taste.

Step 5

Divide kale mixture 4 ways; top the cod.

Step 6

Juice the lemon over the cod.

Step 7

Pour wine and fish stock around.

Step 8

Cover with foil paper.

Step 9

Bake 30 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Well enjoyed! I hadn’t had this exact type of dish growing up, but something kinda similar to it. I took some liberties and used salted cod (bacalhau) in place of fresh cod and quickly sautéed a sliced onion. Also, because I have access to it, used a Portuguese chourico. It came out delicious. Thank you, Dee, for sharing. Made it for “For your Consideration” tag game.
