Pork Sandwich with Apple, Pear, and Cheddar
"I like to entertain with soup and sandwiches ... to me, a dinner party doesn't always have to be fancy. I really enjoy a casual evening with friends; where soup, salads and sandwiches are the main course. This is a perfect sandwich to make for this. I use my Recipe #10403, 'Savory Pork with a Mustard Sauce;' but, obviously, I don't use the mustard sauce. The pork has the perfect flavors for this sandwich. It is the perfect combination of sweet, savory, and tangy. I have used both pork tenderloin and pork loin, with equally good results. Cooking time does not include time to prepare the pork."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Apple Mustard Spread ... mix the apple butter with the mustard, and set to the side.
Step 2
Sandwich ... Spread the apple mustard sauce/spread on both slices of bread (top and bottom), then add the pork slices, onion, apple, pear, and cheese; then, finish with the top bread slice. Use 4 tooth pics in the four corners; cut in half diagonally, and again in half.
Step 3
Serve and ENJOY! ... It's a simple mix of flavors; but absolutely delicious. I love to serve this with a bowl of potato or creamy onion soup, pickles, and chips.
Step 4
Note: If you make this ahead of time, you may want to toss the fruit with lemon, so they don't brown. Usually, I make this right before I serve it, so it isn't necessary.
