Step by Step Method

Step 1

Combine eggs, sugar and salt.

Step 2

Slowly whisk in milk and vanilla.

Step 3

Pour into 6 greased custard cups and sprinkle with nutmeg.

Step 4

Set cups in a shallow metal pan and pour hot water into pan approximately 1 inch deep around cups.

Step 5

Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes; a knife inserted into custard near edge of cup should come out clean when they're done cooking.

Step 6

Let cool until custards set.

I used cinnamon instead of nutmeg, because that's what we like. Very easy and delicious! We added whipped cream on top at serving time. Simple, yet tastes so good!
