Step 1: Combine eggs, sugar and salt.
Step 2: Slowly whisk in milk and vanilla.
Step 3: Pour into 6 greased custard cups and sprinkle with nutmeg.
Step 4: Set cups in a shallow metal pan and pour hot water into pan approximately 1 inch deep around cups.
Step 5: Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes; a knife inserted into custard near edge of cup should come out clean when they're done cooking.
Step 6: Let cool until custards set.
