"You can't beat the flavor of oven roasted peanuts warm straight from the oven, this makes the best homemade peanut butter and roasting your own peanuts is a must for that. Choose unshelled peanuts that have clean, unbroken, unblemished shells that do not rattle when shaken. Store unshelled raw peanuts in an airtight container up to 1 1/2 months on the shelf or 6 months in refrigerator or 12 months in freezer. 1 1/2 pounds of unshelled peanuts equals about 1 pound shelled or 3 1/2 to 4 cups. Roast in the shell or shelled"
