Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375F.

Cut off just enough of the top of the garlic bulb so that you can see the tips of each clove.

Step 3

Place on a piece of foil and drizzle with oil.

Step 4

Tent the foil up around it and toss in the oven.

Step 5

Go back to the top you cut off and rescue any pieces of garlic worth saving for other uses.

Bake for 45 minutes, then cool.

Step 7

Pick off excess skins and squeeze the roasted cloves out with your fingers into a small bowl.

Tips

  • Small piece of aluminum foil.

So easy, and such great flavor. They went well on bread plain and with artichokes or olives, but I think I would love them with just about anything savory.

I love roasted garlic and it is so easy to do. I popped it all after roasting then froze the cloves separately - when frozen I put them in a zip lock bag - into the freezer they go for future use.

These basic recipes are priceless, when your not sure just how to do something, and I am happy you posted this here so I could make some! They came out of the skins so easily when I pressed the bulb with my fingers. Now I have some made up to use on different things. Doing the garlic this way really enhances the flavor of the garlic!
