"The first time I made these was about 8 years ago through a tag game named "Everyday is a Holiday" by nochlo back in the old site . Since then, I've made many burgers but these have stood out amongst the many and the funny thing is these are the simplest and ever so easy to make. They're delicious, they stretch making it wallet friendly and a smart weeknight option. I've made a bit of a tweak to our liking."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Step 2

Mix first 7 ingredients (beef through pepper). DON'T add the Montreal seasoning, that's for later.

Step 3

Place beef mixture into an ungreased 10x13 pan and spread evenly edge to edge.

Step 4

Prick with a fork several times throughout. Sprinkle with Montreal seasoning, to taste.

Step 5

Bake 10-12 minutes until juices are clear then pour off the grease, by tilting pan carefully.

Step 6

Cut immediately into square patties to proportionately match the size of the buns, top with cheese and add desired toppings as suggested. In addition to the suggested toppings, we've had them plain just with cheese, topped with bbq sauce, bacon, lettuce, yada, yada, they are always delicous.

Wow. These are AMAZING. First of all, a breeze to mix together and bake. Hardly any mess and all of the burgers were done at the same time. It uses easy to come by ingredients, which is a huge plus when you live in a rural community. Oh, and did I mention that my family told me these are the BEST BURGERS I've ever made? They're honestly so good and they're going in my Best of 2023 file. My husband said they taste a lot like White Castle Cheeseburgers, which he LOVES. I used standard-sized hamburger rolls and got 6 burgers out of it. I will definitely make these again! I followed the recipe as directed (except I used ground flaxseed instead of bread crumbs). This recipe is a KEEPER. Thanks for sharing it!

I love it when I come across a recipe that is so good, so Slap-Your-Forehead-Why-Didn't-I-Think-Of-That easy that will go into my regular rotation file and tell everybody about it! There were only us two, so I halved the recipe and did it in an 8x8 pan. They were done in just 8 minutes. Hubby thought they were just a little greasy, they were perfect for me, but that's simple to deal with. Doing them in the oven is something I never, ever thought of. This is going into my 'Best Of' file and I will be using this recipe Forever Mama! Thanks, Nat!

I have never thought of doing one giant burger, nor have I tried cooking it in the oven! This was so much fun to prepare and serve. It was super tasty, too. I only had 1 lb. ground round, so I used a 9x9 baking pan. My burger was cooked well done because I forgot to lessen the time based on the smaller amount. No matter, these were fun to serve and gobble up! I served ours with mayo, ketchup, mustard, bread & butter pickles, bacon, and lettuce. Yum! Thank you!

What a wonderful surprise these burgers were! Not grilled or fried, but still very flavorful! I pulled them out of the oven and topped with sliced cheese and bacon, then let the cheese melt before serving. Delicious!! Only thing I'd do is remove them to a plate covered with papertowels to soak up the grease that doesn't get poured off. The flavor was great! Thanks for sharing an easy weeknight meal!
