Boy this was GOOD! I love French Onion Soup but honestly don't think I've ever made it. Because I was just making this for me, I scaled the proportions way back - only half of a huge red onion, about 1 1/2 cups beef broth and 1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce. I toasted a piece of Italian Bread and cut it in four parts, but next time I think I'll do croutons to make the eating easier! The additions I made were a tiny, tiny amount of flour sprinkled over the onions that were caramelized with a sprinkling of brown sugar and a few drops of balsamic. Thank you for this recipe!
