Step by Step Method

Step 1

Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, ginger together.

Step 2

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and beat until light and fluffy.

Step 3

Add apple butter; add molasses; blend.

Step 4

Add dry ingredients; mix.

Step 5

Chill dough for 2 hours or more.

Step 6

Roll as thin as possible. Cut into large cookies.

Step 7

Place on lightly greased cookie sheet.

Step 8

Bake in moderate oven, 375 degrees Fahrenheit, for 10 minutes.
