Step 1

Place honey in a saucepan and heat to boiling

Cool thoroughly

Stir in sugar, eggs, lemon peel and lemon juice

Mix in remaining ingredients

Cover and chill 8 hours

Heat oven to 400

Roll small portion of dough at a time to 1/4 inch thick, keeping remaining dough chilled

Cut dough into 2 inch circles, rounding up the center a bit, and place 1 inch apart on greased baking sheet

Decorate cookies by placing almond halves around cookie, like spokes, and a candied cherry in the center

Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until no imprint remains when touched lightly

Step 11

To make glaze, heat sugar and water in a small saucepan. Cook till candy thermometer reads 230. Remove from heat and stir in icing sugar

Step 12

Brush glaze over cookies
