Step by Step Method

Step 1

Cream the butter with the garlic and parsley in a bowl and set aside.

Step 2

Place the mussels in a saucepan with the remaining ingredients, bring to boil and simmer for 3 minutes or until the mussels open.

Step 3

Detach the lid from the base and place the mussels still sitting in their shells on a baking sheet.

Step 4

Dot generously with the garlic butter and grill until the butter has melted.

Step 5

Serve the mussels on their own or in the wine broth.

We love mussels and eat them often. This looked too good to pass up. I am happy we tried them. I made as written except no bay leaf. Didn't make a difference to us. Very good!

Loved this though did not serve the broth as I found it very salty but the mussels were fantastic and had about a 1/3 of the butter left over and my kilogram of mussels yielded 40 mussels most very plump and every so delicious, thank you Tisme made for Alphabet Soup tag game.
