Step by Step Method

In heavy saucepan, whisk together dry ingredients. Whisk in milk and cook over medium heat for 2-3 minutes. Lightly whisk egg yolks, stir 1/2 cup of warmed liquid into egg yolks and whisk back into pudding mixture. Continue cooking and whisking over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil and thickens. Remove from heat and whisk in butter and extract. Pour into baked pie shell. In clean bowl, beat egg whites, cream of tartar until peaks begin to form, add vanilla & gradually add Stevia while continuing to beat until stiff peaks form. After Preparing meringue, spread over the custard and bake in 350 oven until top is golden. Allow to cool & refrigerate any leftovers.
